Fraternities and sororities at UNT Dallas provide opportunities for leadership and professional development, community service, lifelong friendships, academic support, cultural awareness, and mentoring. Joining a fraternity or sorority is a great opportunity to get involved on campus, enhance your college experience and develop your personal and professional skills. Each chapter is evaluated on an annual basis on the items listed above through the Standards of Excellence Program. They must meet each of the category's requirements and meet or exceed the expectations set forth by the UNT Dallas community, fraternity/sorority alumni, and student affairs staff. Membership in a fraternity or sorority is considered to be a privilege, and with this privilege, comes responsibility to perform in a manner that exemplifies the ideals of UNT Dallas and the values of the organization that your chapter is chartered and founded upon. Each organization takes new members at different times throughout the year and welcomes all students. We hope you explore all of your options and build a lifelong legacy. Each fraternity or sorority hosts their own recruitment events and has individual requirements for membership. If a student is interested in a specific organization he/she may contact the chapter's president or attend a chapter-sponsored event.
An individual interested in joining a fraternity or sorority at UNT Dallas must:
(1) be enrolled as a full-time student in good standing with the university AND (2) have a 2.5 Cumulative GPA
In addition, we ask that all new members complete our Fraternity & Sorority Life (Greek/FSL) 101 Certification.
Each individual chapter also has its own set of requirements, such as dues, letters of recommendation, etc.
